The redesign of business processes has taken great importance in the larger companies which are constantly striving to improve all its processes. What has been badly, named in the 90 and reengineering which simply reduced the number of people within an organization has given way to a more powerful concept: The Business Process Management or, short Anglo-BPM.
BPM or Business Process Management, has many definitions as authors who speak of it, but we can say it is a business discipline that seeks to improve business process cycle within an organization.
What is meant by a cyclical improvement?
Continuous improvement of business processes includes a series of steps which are:
- Strategy : Making the definition of the mission, vision, strategy and business objectives. Being clear about where is the business, we ask where it is heading and what resources people use to achieve it. Plan to be made we wonder how processes can meet our business plan.
- design and optimization Process: As we consider the strategy defined for the company can design the different business processes to be implemented to make our products or services reach and satisfy customers. In regard to process optimization, the design process then we optimize . This involves improvements in cost reduction, improvement in the time or quality. Always aiming to increase the value delivered to customers.
- E MPLEMENTATION processing. The "Running" of the various business process involves getting these to run either with or without the help of systems such as ERP, CRM, SRM, SCM.
- Process Monitoring: Having processes running within the organization, we can extract different information and monitor their behavior. When you know you can monitor deviations, problems, opportunities for improvement, management control, etc..
then by consolidating the various stages we have proposed that when we get to where we design the business processes and execute them. When run, then the monitor. To be monitored and controlled processes, with that information back to the design and optimization processes. This in essence, is a virtuous cycle of continuous improvement.
